TIMING : 0:01 Intro / 1:57 This whisky’s presentation / 4:35 Nosing / 7:15 Tasting (neat, then with water)
Today’s video (shorter & made with my smartphone this time, but still compressed after recording, for quicker uploading reasons), is a whisky review of the ABERLOUR 14 years old, official core range release « Double Cask Matured » (American Oak ex-Bourbon casks & Sherry casks), 40%; My bottle is « Batch 0001 », bottled 01/11/2020. The video is in English but I added a few French words “for good measure”. Besides, I mentioned « Highland Single Malt… », because it is what is written in some of my old bottlings packagings displayed on my table for the video (12 yo N.C.F., 16 yo DCM, 18 yo). Bonjour Greg, Merci pour cette belle review sur un whisky accessible (on le trouve en supermarchés)
Comment on explique que la France est le plus grand consommateur de whisky et au même temps il y a si peu ou pas de dégustations en français sur youtube ?
I feel like these deliver a nice flavor profile that’s good to offer guests but not to think too much about what it’s offering but instead to hangout and have a good time. At lease that’s how I like to look at it.
Love the new format. My experience with Aberlour has been pretty binary – big hit or big miss. I like the sound of this one. Great review.
Nice review! Aberlour has never been a favorite of mine but this one sounds intriguing..
Aberlour was mot terrible when I tried it, but it has not reached anywhere near the status of go-yo
Hi Greg, yes would love to see a longer Aberlour video, but I don’t buy Aberlour anymore because the A’baunadh is a bit too pricey now, the 18, now in 500 ml bottles but the price hasn’t gone down, the 16 now at 40%, my favourite the 15 double cask at 43% was discontinued a few years ago, the 12 un chill filtered version is good though and the new releases I don’t bother with to tell you the truth. Keep well Greg, slàinte.
Very good review Greg. Another i will likely not see in my country haha.
Good to hear your thoughts on this one Greg. Cheers.
A nice dram indeed. Cheers. Love the cask strength ones.
